Course content description
Basic terms in voice production: the culture of spoken language, voice production, phonation, articulation, elocution. Structure and functions of organs of speech. The respiratory apparatus: kinds of respiration, respiratory tract, prolongation of expiration phase - practice. Phonatory apparatus: structure and functions of the larynx, the rules governing phonation - practice. Articulatory apparatus: structure and functions of the root of the tongue, mobile and immobile articulatory organs, articulation of Polish sounds, the efficiency of articulatory organs, place of articulation, rules governing the articulation of Polish sounds - practice. Receiving apparatus: physical, phonematic and musical hearing and their role in the process of voice production. Resonators: structure and activity of upper and lower resonators, their function in the process of voice production, activating resonators - practice. Human voice and its features. Features and rules governing voice production. Conscious and economical use of one\'s voice. The speaker\'s posture. Voice diseases and disorders and their causes. Voice hygiene. Prevention of voice disorders. Relaxing, respiratory, phonatory, articulatory and diction exercise. Interpersonal communication. Public speech.
