Course objective
C1- The presentation of the polish philosophical culture especially the contemporary one based on the analysing of texts; C2 - To deepen the knowledge of the attaintment of the Lublin Philosophical School
Prerequisites
W1- Humanistic knowledge on the secondary school level W2- The konwledge obtained during present studies

K_W07 Student knows and understands the basic methods of analysing and interpreting different forms of philosophical expression; K_W09 Student has a basic knowledge about cultural institutions and about contepmorary cultural life.

K_U01 Student is able to search, to analyse, to interprete, to judge, to select and to use the information obtained from printed and electronic sources; K_U05 Student can interprete and analyse philosophical texts, is able to summarize and to analyse philosophical texts.

Teaching method
The papers prepared by students,discussion, the analysing of the chosen philosophical texts, the examination of the argumentation used in the texts.
Course content description
The exercises are dedicated to introduce the students with the achievements of polish philosophy, especially the philosophy of the twentieth century. The fragments of books, articles, reviews and manuals of philosophy are to be analysed. By analysing the arguments used in the expressions of polish philosophers, the students can learn how to think precisesly and how to formulate their philosophical views. The reference to the cultural and philosophical context will help to undrestand better the specificity of polish philosophical culture. The exercises should help the students to discover the richness of the problems faced in the texts of polish authors and the pluralism of the offered solutions as well. Students are also supposed to discover the diversity of paradigmas of philosophy in Poland and the complexity of social and political situation which used to influence polish philosophy.
Forms of assessment
The final valutation is the result of student during the whole semester and depends on the level of prepared paper, the activity on exercises, especially disussion, analysing and interpreting of texts and attendance. Insufficient mark: Student doesn\\\'t know the basic form of analysing and interpreting of different form of philosophical expressions. Student has no idea of the contemporary cultural life and unable to analyse, to judge or to select printed or electronical sources. Student can\\\'t analyse the philosophical arguments and is unable to indicate nether their main presumptions nor consequences. Student can\\\'t determine the priorites needed to achieve the goal. Sufficient mark: Student hardly knows the basic methods of analysing and interpreting different forms of philosophical expressions, his knowledge regarding cultural institutions is shallow. He can hardly analyse, judge and select informations. Good mark: Student knows and understands the basic methods of analysing and interpreting of different forms of philosophical expressions. He is well-informed in contemporary cultural life, is able to search, to analyse, to judge, to select and to use informations, can summarize and analyse philosophical arguments and indicate their main presumptions and consequences. Very good mark: Student knows and undestands the basic methods of analysing and interpreting different forms of philosophical expressions very well. He is very well informed about the contemporary cultural institutions and the cultural life as well. Student search analyse and and select information very efficiently. He is also very creative in his scientific work.
