Course objective
C1: Introduction of the listeners into the content of ancient philosophy through studying of ancient philosophical texts.
C2: Improving students\' ability actively to participate in the learning process by means of contributions of their own (essays, discussions, debates)
C3: Enhancing the participants\' ability to cooperate in collective analytical research work
Prerequisites
Learning outcomes
W_01: The participants acquire mastery of issues, problems, arguments and solutions involved in discussion in ancient philosophy, W02, W03, W09;
W_02: The participants acquire first-hand knowledge of ancient philosophy, W06, W07.

U_01: Participants can interpret and analyze ancient philosophical texts, U05.

K_01: Participants, through understanding the complexities of the relationship obtaining between intellectual life, religion, and morality may develop a tolerant and understanding attitude to diverse world-views and religions, K05.

Course content description
The content of the material taught in this class are main problems of ancient philosophy philosophy.
Forms of assessment
Unsatisfactory (2)
1. Student fails to acquire the required level of mastery of facts and issues related to ancient philosophy
2. has no adequate understanding of philosophical problems, arguments and solutions of the relevant epoch,
3. Therefore, student\'s social skill cannot profit from the intellectual experience of the encounter of religion with philosophy.
Satisfactory (3)
1. Participants have a minimum mastery of facts and issues related to ancient intellectual life
2. Participants can read and interpret ancient philosophical texts at an elementary level.
Good (4)
1 Participants have fairly extensive and systematized knowledge of ancient intellectual life
2. They can correctly interpret and analyze ancient philosophical texts
3.They have some understanding of the complexity of issues related to moral attitudes and world-views, therefore they may incline towards tolerance and understanding
Very good (5)
1. Participants have extended knowledge of facts, personalities, problems and theories of the Antiquity
2. They thoroughly understand philosophical issues involved in ancient life and culture, they can point to the relevance of these issues for ourselves and our contemporary concerns
