C1: Understanding the mainlines of rules and trends in international trade
C2: Training analytical skills in discussing international trade problems

World trade: an overview
Globalisation and external shocks (oil prices, financial crises)
China and the USA
The European Union trade policy
The World Trade Organization (trading blocs and the WTO)
The emerging economies
Trade blocs and restrictions on trade
The exchange rate systems
The exchange rate and the euro area
The balance of payments and exchange rates
Trade liberalization and protectionism
Fair trade
International competitiveness
Forms of assessment
The final grade depends on:
individual and group projects (presentations),
participation in class discussions,
and regular participation in lectures.
