Course objective
OBJECTIVES:
This course develops practical skills needed in the moot court projects such as Street Law or international moot court competitions.
Prerequisites
intermediate level of English.

Teaching method
TEACHING TECHNIQUES: Socratic method, brain storm, small groups, cases, discussion, writing assignments.
Course content description
SUBJECTS:
Division of the students into specific team groups
Introduction to International Law
Introduction to Legal Writing – Briefs – Memorials:
Preparing for writing Memorials: Legal Research
Preparing Memorials: Legal Analysis
Preparing Memorials: Technical Requiremnts
Introduction to public speaking/ competitive arguing
Preparing for Oral Pleadings: presentation of arguments
Participation in the the mock trial before the International Court of Justice
Forms of assessment
Final grade depends on the level of participation and the final result of a legal brief (memorial), and a mock trial (before the ICJ)
Required reading list
MANDATORY READING:
Obligatory reading materials are distributed during the course of the class. Reading includes cases from the United States Supreme Court.
