Cele przedmiotu
1. acquiring in-depth knowledge of the theory, terminology and methodology of literary and cultural studies; perfecting the ability to analyse literary works using advanced historical and literary theoretical knowledge
2. perfecting the ability to compile a state of research, conduct bibliographical searches, formulate research hypotheses and verify them
3. perfecting the ability to use Dutch both orally and in writing, with particular emphasis on the skills, knowledge and competence necessary for writing a master's thesis
4. perfecting your ability to use Dutch editorial norms to the extent necessary for the correct drafting of your thesis; drafting, under the guidance of your tutor, selected compendia (chapters) of your thesis
Wymagania wstępne
1. knowledge of Dutch at a level appropriate to the first year of graduate studies
2. a good knowledge of theories and research practices in the field of literary studies and an interest in furthering knowledge in this field
3. ability to formulate a written research problem in accordance with the aims and objectives of the seminar
Efekty kształcenia dla przedmiotu
KNOWLEDGE
W_01 has an in-depth knowledge of the place and significance of Dutch Philology in relation to other human sciences, as well as of the material and methodological specificity of the history of Dutch literature and is able to creatively develop and apply this knowledge in professional activity
W_02 Knows the terminology of Dutch literary studies at an extended level
W_03 Is able to extend the knowledge of terminology to other fields of language use (apart from philological terminology) acquiring a vocabulary specific to literary works, scientific and popular science texts related to the topic of the thesis
W_04 has in-depth knowledge within the framework of Dutch literary studies covering
- the characteristics of the different stages of development of Dutch literature as related to the topic of the Master's thesis
- knowledge of the content of works, their ideological message, literary form, and artistic qualities
- awareness of problems of interpretation
- knowledge of the terminology used in Dutch literary studies
W_05 has a structured knowledge of the works falling within the scope of the research topic, is aware of the social and cultural conditions of the genesis of these texts, knows the mechanisms of their production and reception, is familiar with the methodological instruments enabling their interpretation, and is aware of the criteria for assessing their value
W_06 has in-depth knowledge of the interrelationships of Dutch literary studies with other scientific disciplines in the area of humanities (especially linguistics and cultural and religious studies), allowing for the integration of perspectives specific to several scientific disciplines
W_07 has a detailed knowledge of the main developments and most important old and new developments in Dutch literary studies.
W_08 knows and understands advanced methods of analysis and interpretation of various literary texts related to the methodological approaches presented in class
W_09 knows and understands at an advanced level the historical character of the formation of selected traditions, theories or research schools in Dutch literary studies
W_10 knows and understands advanced methods of analysis and interpretation of various literary and cultural texts appropriate to selected traditions, theories or research schools in the field related to the topic of the thesis
W_11 is familiar with contemporary cultural life relating to the literary and cultural texts studied in the thesis
W_12 knows and understands basic notions and principles of industrial property and copyright protection and the necessity of intellectual property management


SKILLS
U_01 demonstrates a theoretical and practical knowledge of the Dutch language appropriate to the level of second degree studies
U_02 has in-depth research skills, including:
- the ability to analyse the work of other authors
- present a synthesis of different ideas and views in Dutch literary studies
U_03 is able to select methods and construct research tools to solve problems in Dutch literary studies and literary translation studies
U_04 shows relationships and connections between fields of study within Dutch literary studies and other fields within the humanities (especially linguistics and cultural and religious studies)
U_05 detects complex interrelationships between social and cultural processes and changes in literature within the scope of the material covered in the course programme
U_06 is able to carry out a critical analysis and interpretation of various types of literary texts (poetry, prose fiction, essay writing, scientific and popular writings), applying original approaches in order to determine their meanings, social impact, place in the historical-cultural process
U_07 The student is able to use digital materials and electronic communication in order to prepare and present the thesis to the instructor
U_08 demonstrates knowledge of the interrelationships and connections between Dutch literary studies and other fields within the humanities (especially Dutch linguistics and cultural and religious studies)
U_09 detects complex relationships between social and cultural processes and developments in Dutch literature
U_10 is able to carry out a critical analysis and interpretation of different types of literary texts in Dutch, using original approaches, in order to determine their meanings, social impact, place in the historical-cultural process
U_11 is able to argue substantively in Dutch and Polish, using his/her own views and those of other authors; formulates conclusions and produces synthetic summaries in Dutch and Polish
U_12 is able to form critical opinions on intellectual creations in Dutch literary studies
U_13 is able to communicate using various communication channels and techniques with the tutor of a literature seminar on issues related to the topic of the Master's thesis
U_14 is able to use electronic bibliographies, repositories and databases (e.g. Bibliografie van de Nederlandse Taal- en Literatuurwetenschap) to conduct research queries
U_15 has an in-depth ability to prepare written work in Dutch in the field of Dutch literary and cultural studies

Kryteria oceny i sposoby weryfikacji zakładanych efektów kształcenia
Knowledge criteria:
for grade 2 - the student lacks basic historical literary knowledge to analyse the text or texts; for grade 3 - the student has general historical literary knowledge of the texts discussed and translated; for grade 4 - the student has structured historical literary knowledge of the texts discussed and translated; for grade 5 - the student has full historical literary knowledge of the texts discussed and translated.

Skills criteria:
for grade 2 - The student lacks basic skills of translating a literary text from Dutch into Polish; for grade 3 - The student is poorly engaged in the preparation of tasks for the class and the translatology project, but has achieved basic skills of translating a literary text from Dutch; for grade 4: The student demonstrates commitment to the preparation of tasks for the class and the translatology project, and has achieved sufficient skills in translating a literary text from Dutch; for grade 5: The student is creative, committed and has achieved significant skills in translating a literary text from Dutch.

Criteria for social competence:
for grade 2 - Lack of class participation or an excessive number of unexcused absences (more than 2 times per semester), insufficient involvement in the presentation of knowledge and in group or individual work during class. Lack of involvement in own development; for grade 3 - Participates little actively in class. Minimal involvement in the presentation of knowledge and in group or individual work in class. Shows little involvement in his/her own development; for grade 4: The student actively participates in classes and satisfactorily fulfils the requirements; for grade 5: The student shows additional involvement, frequently asks questions on an academic level and improves his/her academic competence; the student shows considerable independence and initiative in formulating problems and research postulates in the field covered by the course programme.
