Hi, Cześć!

    I am Yang Jianhua 杨建华 (Yang 杨 is my family name) from China, teaching Chinese at Sinology of KUL since 2015. Just call me Jan.

 

I. About my academic background and interest

 

    a. I studied translation theory and linguistics (esp. theory of “System-functional Linguistics” by Prof. Michael A. K. Halliday from Australia, and theory of “Context of Situation” by Prof. Bronislaw Malinowski from Poland, and graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University;

 

    b. I studied Chinese literature (esp. Ancient Chinese literature of Early Qin Dynasty) in Inner Mongolia Normal University;

 

  (Note: I finished all the courses and thesis defense in the two universities, but unfortunately the doctorate system was resumed soon after my graduation, so I just received at that time certificates with two master degrees, without doctorate degrees, and I did nothing about it then.)

 

    c. All my papers are about the translation theory, published on academic journals or international conference;

 

    And my last book “Excerpts from Translation Studies in the West (西方译学理论辑要）” which was published by Tianjin University Press  and introduced by “THE TRANSLATOR -Studies in Intercultural Communication, 2009, V.15.” (St Jerome Publishing, United Kingdom) in the year when I came to Poland;

 

     

 

    d. I am also interested in modern teaching methodologies (my last patent is about computer input), with the hope that I will give my students more practical helps.
