Course objective
C1. To make students familiar with the transformation of a family and English terms in the area related to sociology of family
C2. To make students familiar with factors of changing structures and family’s functions
C3. To lead to develop students’ abilities to understand the cultural differences in the area of the family
C4. To train skills of speech and presentation in English
Prerequisites
W1. Level B2 of English

KNOWLEDGE
K_W02 The student has knowledge about forms of family life, its functions and social processes conditioning the changes

THE ABILITIES
K_U02 The student can describe and analise the changes in the area of the family life as well as he/she can formulate his/her own opinions. Student can use foreign language of level B2+ and on the higher level in case of specialised terms

K_K01 The student is conscious of the level of his/her knowledge and skills, he/she understand the need of continues development, he/she can complement his/her knowledge and skills independently
Teaching method
the lecture with multimedia presentation, working in groups, working with the text on your own, the discussion, analyses and presentation of topics

9. Changes of women’s position in the family

13. Migrations and a family
14. Family and the multicultural society
Forms of assessment
Finally assessment includes: presence, preparation of multimedia presentation, activity

(C) - The student does not have knowledge of terms of transformation of the Polish family
(A) - The student is not able to identify the factors of changes and to prepare an multimedia presentation concerning of topics
(S) - The student does not understand the need of training

(K - The student has a basic knowledge of terms of transformation of the Polish family
(C) - The student is able to identify the factors of changes and to prepare an multimedia presentation concerning of topics, but average quality
