Magdalena Sawa graduated from The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin in 2001. The same year she was accepted for doctoral studies. In June 2008 she received her PhD with a dissertation titled "Pro-narrative Ekphrasis in Modern British Novel." She is keen to explore the problems of modern British fiction, the theory of narrative, interart relations (literature and the visual arts), affect studies and post-postmodernism. Her current research focuses on affect and the body in the novels of Gabriel Josipovici.
